Title: ATENSPM1A, an autonomous DNA transposon - a consensus. |

Abstract: ATENSPM1A is an autonomous DNA transposon from the En/Spm superfamily. Its individual copies are ~98% identical to the consensus sequence. Five copies of ATENSPM1A are present in the genome. They are bordered by 3 bp-long target site duplications. ATENSPM1A has 29-bp TIRs. There is a 84% identity between the ATENSPM1A and ATENSPM1 consensus sequences. ATENSPM1A encodes two proteins: ATENSPM1A1p (CDS: 1434-947 and 231-96) and ATENSPM1A2p (CDS: 1584-1855, 2073-2199, 2277-2567, 2664-2885 and 3402-3776). Function and classification of ATENSPM1A1p is unknown. ATENSPM1A2p is a transposase.
