Abstract:
ATHILA8B_I is an internal portion of the ATHILA8B endogenous retrovirus. There are several copies of ATHILA8B_I in the genome; they are ~90% identical to the consensus sequence. The consensus sequence was derived from 4 proviral copies. The internal portion is flanked by 90-92% identical LTRs (ATHILA8BLTR). Second half of ATHILA8B_I (positions 2707-5020) is 85% identical to the second half of the ATHILA8A_I internal portion (see comments for ATHILA8A_I). The first half of ATHILA8B_I (positions 483-2696) encodes a 737-aa protein, ATHILA8B1p, which is similar to the ATHILA ORF1-like proteins.
