Title: A few more common, ancient interspersed repeats in the human genome. |

Abstract: L1PA17_5 represents a consensus sequence for the 5' end of LINE1 elements associated with L1PA16, L1PA17 or L1PB4 3' end. Though spread through the genome in early primate evolution, the average divergence of copies to the consensus is 22%, reflecting the mixture of subfamilies and the high CpG content.
