Abstract:
This is a 5' truncated consensus sequence for a retrotransposon of the basal Penelope group. At the DNA level, it is 80-82% similar over almost its full length to BRIDGE1_TN (BRIDGE1_TN was rediscovered as 'Neptune' by [2]). A fragment of the old BRIDGE2_FR entry [1] is in here (pos 116-502 corresponds to bp 1-387 of old entry). The remainder of the old BRIDGE2_FR (positions 503-618) is an unrelated repeat. On average, copies are 8% diverged from the consensus, but some copies are obviously very young (<1% diverged from each other).
