Abstract: CHAPLIN8 is an autonomous MER1-group DNA transposon. The protein encoded by ORF 932-2767 is 63 similar to the CHAPLIN4 and >60% similar to Charlie8 transposase. On average, copies are 5.5% diverged from the consensus.
