Title:
GYPSY12A_LTR, a family of LTRs from Gypsy-like endogenous retroviruses in drosophila.

Abstract:
GYPSY12A_LTR is a long terminal repeat of the GYPSY12A endogenous retrovirus. There are ~20 copies of GYPSY12A_LTR in the genome, they are ~87% identical to the consensus sequence. It is possible that the GYPSY12A_LTR family is a mixture of several young subfamilies. They can be younger than ~8 Myr deducing from the the 87% divergence. The GYPSY12A_LTR consensus sequence is 72% identical to GYPSY12_LTR from GYPSY12.
