Abstract:
ATCOPIA97I is an internal portion of the ATCOPIA97 Copia-like LTR retrotransposon flanked by 3% divergent LTRs, ATCOPIA97LTR, and 5 bp-long TSDs (CTAAW). ATCOPIA97 is one of ~100 families of Copia-like LTR-retrotransposons, which were active in the A. thaliana genome during last 20 Myrs. A few false stop-codons and a putative long deletion have damaged ORF which encoded originally an intact Copia-like polyprotein.
