Abstract: GYPSY5I_DR is an internal portion of the GYPSY5_DR LTR retrotransposon. GYPSY5_DR was active recently, it is flanked by identical GYPSY5LTR_DRs. Remnants of the ~300-aa gag and ~1080-aa pol proteins are encoded by one ORF (1358-aa, positions 137-4141).
