Abstract:
COPIA5_AG is a young family of Copia-like LTR retrotransposons. COPIA5-I_AG, an internal portion of COPIA5_AG is flanked by 100% identical COPIA5-LTR_AG LTRs. The consensus was reconstructed from 5, >99% identical, copies of COPIA5-AG internal sequence. The consensus sequence encodes the 1312-aa COPIA5_AGp protein (positions 76-4011).
