Title: HATN6_AG: a family of nonautonomous hAT-like DNA transposons from African malaria mosquito. |

Journal: Repbase Reports 3(5), 91-91 (2003) |

Abstract: HATN6_AG is a family of nonautonomous DNA transposons that belongs putatively to the hAT superfamily. HATN6_AG copies are ~2% divergent from the consensus sequence. There are several HATN6_AG-like subfamilies present in the genome. HATN6_AG has imperfect 36-bp terminal inverted repeats (3 mismatches and one indel). The genome harbors ~30 HATN6_AG elements. A small subset of HATN6_AG elements (~10 copies) was transposed as a composite TC1N-2_AG-like transposon.
