Title:
HAT2_CI, a family of autonomous hAT DNA transposons from the sea squirt Ciona intestinalis.
Journal:
Repbase Reports 3(6), 102-102 (2003)
Abstract:
HAT2_CI is a family of autonomous elements related to the hAT superfamily. HAT2_CI encodes a 604-aa HAT2_CIp transposase (positions 422-2233). The N-terminal portion of HAT2_CIp (pos. 4-44) includes a BED zinc finger. HAT2_CI is flanked by 12-bp terminal inverted repeats. The HAT2_CIp transposase was also involved in propagation of HATN4_CI nonautonomous elements. HAT2_CI and HATN4_CI share common ~80-bp 5' and ~250-bp 3' termini, respectively.
