Abstract:
TE2_TP is a young family of nonautonomous transposable elements characterized by 4-bp target site duplications and terminal inverted repeats. This family is derived from a transposable element encoding Gypsy-like integrase. TE2_TP is putatively classified as a nonautonomous Gypsy family. TE2_TP encodes a Zn-finger protein (pos. 800-860).
