Abstract: CR1-5_SP is a family of CR1 non-LTR retrotransposons. The consensus sequence was reconstructed from 10 copies 99% identical to it. The 5' terminus of CR1-5_SP is not known. The consensus encodes the 1047-aa CR1-5_SPp protein (pos. 1-3141) that includes the CR1-like reverse transcriptase domain. The 3' terminus of CR1-5_SP is composed of the (TCTA) microsatellite.
