Title:
Gypsy-class endogenous retrovirus RIREX.
Journal:
Repbase Reports 5(5), 130-130 (2005)
Abstract:
RIREX is distantly similar to RIRE2. The internal sequence is highly repetitive and contains three overlapping ORFs with multiple HGWP motifs. There is no clear evidence of retroviral proteins and the element may be non-autonomous. Individual copies are ~10% diverged from the consensus.
