Title:
SINE2-6_SP, a family of SINE2 retrotransposons in the sea urchin genome.
Journal:
Repbase Reports 5(6), 164-164 (2005)
Abstract:
The genome harbors several hundred copies of SINE2-6_SP elements that are ~95% identical to the SINE2-6_SP consensus sequence (>1000 elements ale ~85% identical to the consensus). The SINE2-6_SP 150-bp 5'-terminal portion is ~91% identical to to the 5' terminal parts of SINE2-4a_SP, SINE2-4b_SP, and SINE2-4c_SP elements. The remaining 224-bp portion of SINE2-6_SP is not related to SINE2-4_SP-like elements (excluding the 3' terminus composed of the ATT minisatellite. Putative classification: a CR1-dependent SINE2.
