Abstract:
LTR44_MD is a non-autonomous LTR element, probably of an ERV. Has a variable length GA minisatellite at the 5' end, 4 bp TSDs. Average similarity of copies to the consensus is around 87%. The internal region corresponding to this LTR is unknown. This consensus was reconstructed from the June 2005 release of the 6.8X WGS sequence.
