Abstract:
This LINE element shares closest proximity with RAVLIN LINE (~85%). It's present in Medicago genome in multiple copies whose central domain is well conserved and moderately conserved tail region, while in most of the cases 5' end is heavily truncated. This sequence has characteristic features of L1 as well as it exhibits a RNAseH domain after RT polymerase domain, a feature of I-elements of drosophila, though this sequence has poly-A tail end. Also it has CCHC zinc finger protein domain in 1st ORF.
