Abstract: Kolobok-N2_NV is a consensus sequence of a family of non-autonomous Kolobok transposons. The Kolobok-N2_NV transposon is characterized by 25-bp TIRs (3 mismatches) and TTAA target site duplications. This family is composed of several hundred elements that have been transposed continuously for a very long time: the youngest and oldest elements are ~10% and 30% divergent from the consensus sequence.
