Abstract:
BEL-1_NV is a very young family of BEL LTR retrotransposons. The internal portion of BEL-1_NV encodes the BEL-1_NVp polyprotein composed of the protease, reverse transcriptase, RNase H, and integrase domains. It is flanked by 100% identical LTRs. BEL-1_NV is characterized by 4-bp target-site duplications.
