Title:
DNA-3-4_NV - a family of non-autonomous DNA transposons from the starlet sea anemone genome.
Journal:
Repbase Reports 8(4), 394-394 (2008)
Abstract:
DNA-3-4_NV elements are flanked by 3-bp targets site duplications. The consensus sequence contains long TIRs. Termini of DNA-3-4_NV differs from elements that belong to the Harbinger and En/Spm superfamilies, which are also flanked by 3-bp TSDs. It is likely that DNA-3-4_NV belongs to a novel superfamily of DNA transposons, which also includes DNA-3-3_NV, DNA-3-5_NV, DNA-3-6_NV and DNA3-7_NV. In addition to 3-bp TSDs, all these elements have the 5'-TAG and CTA-3' termini.
