Abstract: piggyBac-4_SM is a young family of piggyBac transposons, characterized by 14-bp TIRs and TTAA target-site duplications. The consensus sequence was reconstructed based on multiple alignment of 11 copies (they are ~99% identical to the consensus). This transposon may be still active, and the consensus sequence is a good approximation of the active transposon.
