Abstract:
Consensus sequence for Uhu, a Tc1-like DNA transposon, in D. ananassae. There are 17 complete or partial copies of Uhu in this species. Uhu is also found in members of the Hawaiian Drosophila, including D. grimshawi, where its consensus sequence is almost identical in length at 1655bp, compared with 1656bp in D. ananassae.
