Abstract: Harbinger2-1_ES is a consensus sequence of a family of non-autonomous Harbinger transposons that was active in the red alga genome very recently. The consensus was derived from 8 copies over 99.5% identical to the consensus. These transposons are flanked by AWT target site duplications. Harbinger2-1N1_ES shares common termini with its autonomous counterpart Harbinger2-1_ES.
