Abstract:
Consensus sequence from 176 copies of a 6.018 kb repeat sequence found in tandem arrays on all human acrocentric p arms, as well as heterochromatic regions of chromosomes 3 and 4. Individual sequences share >95% identity. One region of the consensus contains nine tandem copies of the 147 bp ACRO1 repeat, which have an average of 74% identity with each other.
