Title:
Bite: a new lineage of non-LTR retrotransposons from ticks.
Journal:
Repbase Reports 23(7), 4376-4376 (2023)
Abstract:
~99.1% identical to consensus. Bite is a new lineage of non-LTR retrotransposons found from divergent tick species, at least from 4 genera (Dermacentor, Haemophysalis, Hyalomma, and Rhipicephalus). It encodes two proteins, and the second protein contains three domains: apurinic-like endonuclease, reverse transcriptase, and ribonuclease H. The phylogenetic analysis indicates Bite belongs to the I group.
